1. What are the eligible undergraduate degrees to pair with the B+MM?

Students can pursue the following degrees: Faculty of Arts (BA, BFA, BMS), Faculty of Forestry (BSNR, BEST, BSCN, BSCW, BSF, BSFS), Faculty of Land and Food Systems (BSc in Food, Nutrition and Health, Global Resource Systems, Applied Biology, and Food and Resource Economics), Faculty of Science (BSc), School of Kinesiology (BKin), and School of Music (BMus)

2. What are the admission requirements for international students?

Applicants must meet both UBC’s general admission requirements and UBC Sauder’s specific criteria. Requirements can vary based on curriculum, but generally require senior level English and Math. A strong academic record and a compelling Personal Profile are essential. Admissions pathways are available for Year 1 (Direct High School Entry) and Year 2 or 3 transfer applicants.

3. How are applications evaluated?

Applications are evaluated holistically. UBC considers your grades in all Grade 11 (junior level) and Grade 12 (senior level) classes, paying special attention to courses that relate to the degree you’re applying to. In addition to academic performance, applicants must complete a Personal Profile, which includes short written essays. The B+MM supplemental application requires an additional video submission. These components allow the admissions team to assess qualities such as leadership, teamwork, communication skills, goal-setting, and community involvement. The evaluation focuses on both academic excellence and personal attributes that align with the program’s values.

4. Are scholarships available for international students?

Yes, UBC offers several merit-based scholarships for international students entering undergraduate programs, including the International Major Entrance Scholarship (IMES), Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award, and the International Scholars Program. Students are automatically considered for IMES and OIS upon applying to UBC by the admissions deadline.

5. How does the study permit process work?

After receiving an offer to be admitted to UBC Sauder, our International Student Advising team will provide guidance to incoming graduate students on the study permit application process, including personalized consultations, timelines, support with gathering required documents, and application best practices.

6. Is there an English language requirement?

Yes, UBC has an English Language Admissions Standard. There are 9 ways to meet this standard, which can be reviewed on the English language competency page.

7. Is there housing available?

Yes, UBC offers a variety of on-campus housing options. For incoming 1st year students, housing is guaranteed for 1st year if you accept your offer of admission and apply for housing by the stated deadline.
