Jaggy is a motivated fourth-year student at the Sauder School of Business specializing in Accounting. Jaggy was elected to be President of the club in March 2017 and actively gives back to his community by volunteering with various non-profit organizations. This summer, Jaggy will be working as a Summer Intern for KPMG Vancouver. Outside of Accounting, Jaggy also enjoys boxing and exploring the outdoors.
Gurinder is a fourth-year student specializing in Accounting. As Co-Vice President, he is excited to meet everyone at UBCAC’s many events! As of May 2017, Gurinder is a Summer Intern at KPMG in their Enterprise Audit group. In his free time, Gurinder enjoys taking long walks along the beach, contemplating the meaning of life, trying new specialty brews and reading the CPA Handbook!
Tyler is an ambitious third-year student at the Sauder School School of Business specializing in Accounting. Tyler joined the club back in 2015 as the First Year Representative and served as the External Events Director alongside Eva. In his new role as the Co-Vice President, Tyler hopes to contribute to every member in their quest towards landing employment in the highly competitive accounting industry in Vancouver while contributing to various portfolios within the club. Outside the classroom, Tyler is busy with winning championships with the Sauder ice hockey team, lifting weights and doing anything that gets his competitive juices going.
Eva is a fourth-year student specializing in Accounting. As the Treasurer (a.k.a the Accountant of the Accounting Club), she manages the club’s financial activities and communicates closely with its various sponsors and partner organizations. She is extremely pleased to be a part of the executive team once again this year and is looking forward to another great year with the new team and incoming members. Eva’s other passions include dancing competitively, baking (healthy-ish) desserts, and recreational golf.
External Events Director
Samantha is an ambitious third-year student specializing in Accounting at Sauder. As an External Events Director, Samantha is responsible for working alongside her team to plan several value-added events for UBCAC members. Along with her teammates, Samantha hopes to foster a collective passion for Accounting, while combating the stereotypes of Accountants being no more than boring math nerds. Outside of school, Samantha’s passions include singing opera, pretending she knows how to kickbox, and crying over Grey’s Anatomy.
External Events Director
Harris is a proactive third-year student at the UBC Sauder School of Business specializing in Accounting and Real Estate. As one of the External Events Directors, Harris will be working alongside his team to organize some of the club’s primary events throughout the summer and school year, including Summer BBQ and Industry Night. Beyond the classroom walls, you can find Harris painting in the outdoors, entertaining his pet dog, Scott, or attempting to relive his basketball prime at the UBC Recreation Centre.
External Events Director
Janelle is a driven second year student at the Sauder School of Business. As an External Events Director, Janelle is committed to strengthening her connections to the student body and community. Valuing mentorship and relationship building, Janelle is excited to work alongside her team to coordinate impactful events throughout the year. Outside of school, Janelle has a passion for humanitarian work and is active in youth-led initiatives both locally and globally. In her spare time, Janelle may be queen of the courts when it comes to volleyball, but she also loves a good old game of ultimate frisbee.
Judy is a third-year student at the UBC Sauder School of Business. While she enjoys problem solving and working with numbers, Judy also treasures relationship building and making a difference in people’s lives–which is why she decided to pursue a dual specialization in Accounting and Human Resources. As the Marketing Director, she is in charge of keeping the student body updated with all the exciting accounting related events happening throughout the year! Outside of school, Judy is a passionate piano instructor, self proclaimed foodie, and a professional annoyer to her dog, Cookie.
Visual Media Director
Amy is a fourth year student at the Sauder School of Business specializing in Accounting. As the team’s Visual Media Director, she strives to be the creative cherry on top to the team. With her creativity, humour, and strong artistic personality, Amy aims to spearhead a fresh and exciting perspective on accounting to the Sauder community – she strongly believes that accounting really isn’t scary as you think! Aside from accounting, Amy enjoys travelling, scuba diving, skydiving, canoeing, playing the piano, guitar, and bass, and exploring the great outdoors.
Social Charity Director
Sarah is a second-year student at the Sauder School of Business. She has intended to specialize in Accounting after realizing how her heart beats faster when she successfully balances her debit and credit columns in her Adjusted Trial Balance. As one of the Social/Charity Directors, Sarah is excited to be planning many fun events and charitable initiatives throughout the year to give back to the local community. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys watching Hong Kong TVB drama, taking long naps, shopping, trying different restaurants and occasionally working out. She looks forward to seeing everyone at all the UBCAC events this year!
Ji Eun Kim
Social Charity Director
Ji Eun is a driven third-year student at Sauder School of Business specializing in Accounting She joined the club as the Second Year Representative last year. This year, she is excited work as one of the Social Charity Directors and is looking forward to connecting members with the local community through exciting events! Her goal for the year is to help math nerd members, who continue to support the stereotype of an Accountant, to come out and contribute to the community. Outside of school, she enjoys playing the flute, exploring the nature, and spending time with close friends and families.
3rd/4th Year Representative
Michael is a fourth year student in specializing in Accounting Co-op. Having met with many different people at the various UBC Accounting Club events, he hopes to be able to help them achieve their goals through the events hosted by the Accounting Club. As the Third and Fourth Year Representative, he will be working closely with mid-sized firms and CPABC to ensure that the Accounting Club members are up to date with the latest information regarding the two! Outside of school, Michael loves to challenge new hiking trails in Vancouver, play a game or ten of pool/basketball, or just enjoy a good movie with his friends.
Gary is a levelheaded third-year student at the Sauder School of Business specializing in Accounting. As the Administrative Director, Gary is responsible for keeping an open line of communication between his fellow executives, club members, and third-party organizations. Just like how you would balance your debits with your credits, Gary believes the key to a happy life is to maintain a balance between working hard and taking regular, healthy breaks. Outside of school, Gary likes to spend his free time playing competitive volleyball or working on his project car.
