Daniel is a driven third-year student at the Sauder School of Business specializing in Accounting. Daniel was elected to be President of the club in March 2016 and is also an active member within the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award community. Starting in May 2016, Daniel will be working as a Summer Associate for PwC Vancouver in the Assurance group. Outside of Accounting, Daniel is interested in strength training and embarking on overnight expeditions on the west coast mountains.
Jeffrey is a fifth year BCom student specializing in Accounting and Business Technology Management. When he’s not busy doing Vice President things and writing e-mails, he can be found managing his fantasy basketball team or taking a long walk on the beach. Jeffrey is a self-proclaimed lyricist, and is preparing to release a mixtape to inspire the world. Look out!
Rachel is a fourth-year student specializing in Accounting. As Co-Vice President, she is excited to meet everyone at UBCAC’s many events! As of May 2016, Rachel is a Summer Associate at PwC in the Assurance group. She strongly encourages the pursuit of passions, and is the Editor-in-Chief of The Cavalier, a Yamaha Instructor at Tom Lee Music, and a paddle-boarder of the West Coast.
Jaggy is a third-year student specializing in Accounting. As the Treasurer, he communicates closely with the Club’s sponsors and partner organizations, and manages all financial activities. Essentially Jaggy is the Accountant of the Accounting Club. In his spare time he enjoys boxing and outdoor activities. Jaggy is also a firm believer in giving back to the community and enjoys volunteering with non-profit organizations.
External Events Director
Eva is a third-year student specializing in Accounting. As the External Events Director, she will be working alongside her team in planning exciting events throughout the year. She looks forward to using this opportunity as a chance to create and build strong connections, and bring lasting value to the school and community. Aside from Accounting, Eva’s other passions include dancing and performing with her ballet/traditional Chinese dance team, recreational golf, and brushing up on her French.
External Events Director
Mike is a motivated third-year student at the Sauder School of Business specializing in Accounting and BTM. Mike joined the club on March 2016 as the External Events Director and also currently serves as a Teaching Assistant for introduction Commerce courses such as COMM 290 and COMM 293. While juggling academics and assisting professors with their research, Mike enjoys competitive team sports including hockey, basketball and esports. As a lifetime learner, Mike is actively pursuing his life-long dream of becoming a professor and is currently striving to gain valuable experience and a solid foundation of business skills through a career in Accounting.
External Events Director
Tyler is a driven second-year student of the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia. As one of the Director of External Events, Tyler is accountable for the execution of the club’s major events while lending a helping hand to the rest of the UBCAC executive team. Outside of the classroom, Tyler immerses himself with winning championships with the Sauder ice hockey team, speed swimming, juggling a soccer ball and lifting weights at the gym.
Entering his third year of study, Michael intends to pursue a specialization in Accounting at the Sauder School of Business. He is excited about the opportunity to accrue more knowledge about the many facets of Accounting, and hopes to be able to share these opportunities to the club members as the Marketing Director. Outside of school, Michael loves to play billiards and basketball, or enjoy a movie or three with his friends on a Friday night.
Visual Media Director
Amy is a third year student at the Sauder School of Business specializing in Accounting. As the team’s Visual Media Director, she strives to be the creative cherry on top to the team. With her creativity, humour, and strong artistic personality, Amy aims to spearhead a fresh and exciting perspective on accounting to the Sauder community – she strongly believes that accounting really isn’t scary as you think! Aside from UBC Accounting Club, Amy works as the Creative Director at UBC’s Imprint Conference. As an islander from Victoria, Amy enjoys travelling, scuba diving, skydiving, canoeing, playing the piano, guitar, and bass, and exploring the great outdoors.
Social Charity Director
Asha is an ambitious third year student at the Sauder School of Business specializing in Accounting. As a Social/Charity Director with the UBC Accounting club this year, Asha is excited to plan engaging charitable events for Sauder students and also to volunteer within the local community. Through her role as Social/Charity Director this year, Asha strives to work with charities whose values align with those of the UBC Accounting club. In addition to learning about local social enterprises, in her free time Asha enjoys Zumba, eating ice cream, and thrift shopping.
Social Charity Director
Chelsea is a third year Accounting student at the Sauder School of Business with a passion for the social entrepreneurial landscape here in Vancouver. As a Social/Charity Director, she is looking forward to using this drive to plan fun social events and charitable initiatives to engage Sauder students and give back to the local community. Outside of school, Chelsea enjoys running, playing dodgeball, and playing ultimate to continually improve her hand-eye coordination (or lack thereof). She also loves channeling her competitive spirit through board game nights with friends.
3rd/4th Year Representative
Gurinder is currently a third year student pursuing a major in Accounting at the Sauder School of Business. As the Third and Fourth Year Representative, he is responsible for catering events to the needs of upper year students while organizing the Mid-Sized Firm event. Furthermore, Gurinder’s role extends to the position of CPA Ambassador. With this role he oversees communications with CPABC to maintain up-to-date information regarding the CPA designation. In his free time, Gurinder likes to stay informed on the latest global technology trends.
Saxon is a third year student at the Sauder School of Business specializing in Accounting. As the Administrative Director, Saxon likes to analyze different business’ balance sheets and income statements with the rest of the Executive Team. He believes that the key to success is maintaining a steady cash flow and ensuring that your working capital is always above 0. Outside of enjoying a solid joke, Saxon has a passion for basketball, billiards, and exploring the beautiful BC scenery through overnight camping and canoe trips.
Ji Eun Kim
Second Year Representative
Ji Eun is a goal-oriented second year student at the Sauder School of Business intending to specialize in Accounting. As a Second Year Representative, she is looking forward to work together with the team to create events catered towards first and second year students. Ji Eun’s goal this year is to help second year students discover whether Accounting is the right option for them. Aside from school, Ji Eun enjoys playing flute, hitting the gym, and learning Mandarin.
First Year Representative
Janelle is an energetic first-year student at the Sauder School of Business aiming to specialize in Accounting. As the First Year Representative, she is eager to bridge the gap between first year students looking to learn more about accounting and the opportunities that arise in UBCAC. Outside of school, Janelle has a passion for volunteering for the greater good and is active in charitable initiatives both locally and globally. In her spare time you can find her serving up a game of volleyball, soaking in the sun while playing ultimate frisbee or exploring BC.
