  • Justin Uyeno

    President

    Justin is a driven third-year student at the Sauder School of Business specializing in Accounting. Justin was elected to the President position in March 2015, and also currently serves as a Board of Director with the Richmond Gateway Theatre Society. Some of Justin’s other passions include competitive ice hockey and recreational golf. Starting in May 2015, Justin will be working as a Summer Associate for PwC (Vancouver Office) in the professional services firm’s Audit & Assurance group.

  • Vishal Shangari

    Vice President

    Vishal is a fourth-year Accounting student at Sauder. He is excited to build on his experience on the Accounting Club Executive Team, and give back to members as the new Vice President. In 2015, Vishal will be a Summer Associate at PwC Vancouver in the Assurance and Consulting practices – where he plans to start working full-time after graduating. His interests outside of Accounting include playing basketball, watching Kobe Bryant beat LeBron James, and losing money playing online poker.

  • Jeffrey Wang

    Treasurer

    Jeffrey is a fourth year BCom student specializing in Accounting and Business Technology Management. As the Treasurer, he communicates closely with the Club’s sponsors and partner organizations, and manages all financial activities. When he’s not busy processing transactions and writing e-mails, he can be found managing his fantasy basketball team or taking a long walk on the beach. Jeffrey is a self-proclaimed lyricist, and is preparing to release a mixtape to inspire the world. Look out!

  • Cindy Fu

    External Events Director

    Cindy is a third-year student specializing in Accounting. As the External Events Director, she will be working cohesively with her team to plan and execute a variety of events throughout the school year. Cindy also works part time at TD Canada Trust. Aside from school, she is passionate about writing and writes poetry inspired by societal issues, and moments. She also enjoys trying out new restaurants, playing the piano, and watching classic movies.

    External Events Director

    Desmond is a third-year student specializing in Accounting. As an External Events Director, he looks forward to making a positive impact while organizing the various club events throughout the year. Apart from academics and work, Desmond enjoys hiking, basketball, and is an automotive and fitness enthusiast.

  • Abhilasha Gnawali

    External Events Director

    Abby is third-year student specializing in Accounting. As the External Events Director this year she co-led the Summer BBQ, Industry Night and Summer Sports Day as well as supporting the rest of the executive team. Some of her involvements outside of the Accounting Club include working with UBC Jump Start, RezLife and the Commerce Community program. In her spare time she enjoys slam poetry and slacklining and urges her peers to give them both a try!

  • Daniel Leong

    Marketing Director

    Daniel is a second-year student intending to pursue a degree in Accounting. As the club’s marketing director, he is in charge of promoting events through various social media outlets and supporting the team whenever possible. In addition, Daniel is an active member within the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award community and enjoys going on overnight hiking expeditions and weight training. Besides doing quantitative tasks in school and work, he also prioritizes health by routinely strength training and managing caloric intake.

    Visual Media Director

    Alvinia is a third-year Accounting student from Vancouver. As Director of Visual Media, she provides support to the team by developing promotional materials and increasing member engagement at events. Aside from Accounting and graphics design, Alvinia enjoys painting and dancing.

    Social Charity Director

    Anika is a third-year student specializing in Accounting who will be joining the team for her first year as one of the Social Charity Directors. This year, she hopes to find alternative methods to connect the UBCAC community with charitable organizations. In the past, Anika has worked closely with charitable organizations and is excited to mingle her passion for accounting and charity. In her free time, she enjoys long-distance running, hiking, and calls herself an adventure seeker.

    Social Charity Director

    Sameena is an incoming fourth-year student specializing in Accounting. As the Social Charity Director, she is responsible for planning various events to engage the Sauder community with non-profits in the Lower Mainland. This summer, Sameena is a Summer Intern at KPMG Vancouver. Some of her passions include playing hockey, scrapbooking, and talking politics! As a new Career Peer Advisor at Sauder, Sameena is looking forward to assisting students with their career and educational pursuits.

    3rd/4th Year Representative

    Rachel is a third-year student specializing in Accounting. As the 3rd & Fourth Year Rep / CPA Ambassador, she is excited to meet everyone at the Midsize Firm Event, information sessions, and UBCAC’s many events! She strongly encourages the pursuit of passions, and is the Editor-in-Chief of The Cavalier, a Yamaha Instructor at Tom Lee Music, and a paddle-boarder of the West Coast.

    Administrative Director

    Jocelyn is a second-year student intending to specialize in Accounting with a minor in Law and Society. She is the club’s Administrative Director, a Board member at the Gateway Theatre Society, an advocate of the Fine Arts among youth, a casual gym goer, and a passionate community volunteer. Having been involved in a variety of organizations ranging from the UBC Tennis Centre, to the Federal Government, she believes that opportunities come to those prepared and open to new experiences.

    Second Year Representative

    Jaggy is a second-year student intending to specialize in Accounting. As the 2nd Year Representative, he is responsible for organizing the First and Second Year Night and creating awareness for the club by developing new promotional strategies to drive traffic to events and social media platforms. In his spare time he enjoys boxing and exploring the outdoors. Jaggy is also a firm believer in giving back to the community and enjoys volunteering with non-profit organizations.

  • Tyler Chiu

    First Year Representative

    Tyler is a first-year student at the Sauder School of Business. As a First Year Representative, he is striving to create unparalleled value for every single member of the UBC Accounting Club and to kindle the curiosity of lower-year students studying either business related or non-business related majors at UBC. When he is not hitting the books, Tyler is helping the Sauder Commerce Capitalists ice hockey team reinvigorate its dynasty designation one pass at a time.
