On March 27th, 2024, the UBC Sauder's Centre for Climate and Business Solutions and the Bradshaw Research Institute for Minerals and Mining joined forces to host a thought-provoking symposium titled "Mining for a Sustainable Future." This event aimed to spark critical discussions and build collaborations within the research community focused on innovative and responsible mining practices.

At the Foresight Future Economy Summit, we had the opportunity to have a fireside chat with Gregor Robertson (ex-mayor of Vancouver). Gregor Robertson, the 39th mayor of Vancouver, served for an unprecedented ten consecutive years, making him one of the longest-serving mayors in the city's history. His tenure was notably marked by his leadership in the Greenest City 2020 Action Plan.

This event is recognized as the largest and longest-running sustainable business summit and innovation showcase in North America. The Globe Forum gave the students a unique opportunity to observe and engage directly with global leaders in environmental stewardship and business innovation.
